Competition Prizes
INEOS are again sponsoring the prizes for the Trainee Competition to be judged at the New Forest Show this year. A top prize of £1000 will be given to the winner with runners up winning £400 and £200 for the second and third places.

Friends Newsletters
The Trust is involved in many ways with conservation of the New Forest. Friends of the New Forest receive a Newsletter roughly every two months to let them know what is happening. Newsletters from 2007 can be downloaded from this site now.

Fine Crafted Wood Competition
The competition for trainee furniture designer/makers is going ahead again in 2008. Those who are interested in entering should now be downloading the application form from this site. We have some free oak and beech boards available for them to use on a first come first served basis.

Hotels back the Forest
Visitors to the New Forest are more than willing to contribute to its conservation. That is the message we have from a new scheme tried out by the Bell Inn at Brook. For some months the guests there have been given the option of accepting an extra £1 charge on their accounts when this money was to go to support the work of the New Forest Trust. The overwhelming majority of guests are content to make this small contribution under what is becoming known as the New Forest Visitor Gift Scheme. Administration of the Scheme by the Hotel was a very simple thing to do. Careys Manor Hotel is also blazing the way forward with the Scheme and reports that visitors are more than happy to do their bit and pleased to stay in a Hotel that obviously cares about the New Forest.
